Intensive Family Preservation Specialist
Role Overview: Family Preservation Specialists are dedicated professionals contracted to provide comprehensive support and education to families in various communities. This role is instrumental in addressing safety, abuse, neglect, and domestic violence issues, alongside enhancing parenting skills. Specialists work closely with families to eliminate barriers to success, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all family members.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate contact with clients within 24 hours of referral, conducting intake and assessments primarily in the clients' homes or community settings.
- Provide intensive case management and supervised visitation, meeting with families 1-3 times per week or more as needed, to address critical safety and well-being concerns.
- Facilitate domestic violence education and parenting education, tailoring the approach to meet the specific needs of each family.
- Develop and regularly review safety plans for all family members, offering ongoing support and aftercare resources.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in agency and statewide databases, ensuring all client interactions and progress are recorded.
- Participate in court hearings, team meetings, and provide crisis response as required, demonstrating flexibility and availability to meet the needs across assigned counties.
Qualifications:
- A Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Services field preferred.
- Licensed Clinician Preferred
- Certification in CPR/First Aid and Car Seat Training, with CANS and ANSA certifications desirable.
- Proven experience in providing direct services to youth, individuals, and families, with a background in child welfare service delivery.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft WORD, Excel, and database management.
