Job Summary: Inverter Services Technician (Tech):
The Inverter Services Technician role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues with inverter systems, including maintenance and repair, ensuring optimal performance and reliability, across the Miller Bros Solar fleet nationwide. Ability and willingness to travel (up to 90%) and work nights and evenings, as needed, are a must.
Responsibilities
- Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance services and operations for which they are qualified to safely and efficiently perform;
- Performs other technical and administrative duties associated with servicing, commissioning and maintaining a power facility equipment;
- Provides support for system capacity testing and system retrofits.
- Performs routine (electrical troubleshooting and repair, instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting) and complex (distributed control systems, Inverter troubleshooting) maintenance work, up to their capabilities, as assigned and/or directed by supervisor and work orders from the preventive maintenance management system.
- Participates in training as required, JHA, RCA, LOTO documentation.
- Ensures work is performed in accordance with Environmental, Safety and Quality requirements;
- Performs work independently and/or in work crews.
Qualifications: Knowledge/Skills
- Proven experience with a multitude of electrical/construction projects and knowledge of electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of complex analog and digital instrumentation and control systems; proper methods for troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting instruments and control systems; proper and safe methods to clear equipment; safe use of tools; plant safety rules; reporting procedures and practices, maintenance procedures and practices; electrical and mechanical prints, and solar plant terminology and nomenclature.
- Understanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place.
- Ability to excel in a collaborative, cross-functional and geographically diverse organization.
- Maturity, professionalism and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues and Miller Bros Solar clients including onsite project managers.
- High-energy, developed interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to synthesize complex analysis, approach new challenges with creativity and summarize information in a manner that supports key decision makers.

Education/Experience
- Two (2) or more years-experience in a power plant or PV Solar O&M/EPC experience.
- 2+ years of field experience with significant I&E, I&C and/or C&I Electrician experience will be considered in lieu of applicable solar experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills) such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid state theory application.
- Basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and associated control devices installed in power facilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly verbal and written information and directives; troubleshoot equipment and system problems; detect and correct faulty instruments and control devices; install special or sensitive instruments; prioritize work; read and understand technical information, prints, and engineering data; interpret charts, graphs and gauge scales; and interface and work with others.
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman certification/qualifications is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, service, or collect data on plant equipment.
- Requires use of wear personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Occasionally requires lifting up to 70 pounds, to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Work overtime and non-standard working hours –(nights) as required
- Travel required as needed.
