Job Description

Quackcom is an Information Technology Services Provider in Granite City, IL. We are seeking an experienced IT Technician with networking experience to join our team. This position will be based out of our Granite City office and will require both in in office helpdesk support and onsite service visits to client locations in the surrounding area.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide helpdesk and on-site technical support and troubleshooting for customers.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
  • Document all service activities, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers on system usage and best practices.
  • Works with other resources and vendors to deliver effective field support services.
  • Utilizes service-specific tools and technologies to deliver on-site user support services.
  • Identifies trends and proposes solutions that head-off recurring and future issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in IT related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of firewall configuration and management.
  • Experience with ticketing systems.
  • Proficiency in desktop support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and help desk software.
  • Knowledge of various operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN networks and network protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar field service technician role.
  • Blend of experiences with switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points, device management systems, network monitoring & servers.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+ certification, or other related IT professional certifications are a plus.
