Position Summary
Responsible for the secure and effective operation of desktop support and systems administration. This individual manages and leads the helpdesk, systems administration and communications infrastructure teams. Key systems & services oversight include our LAN, Citrix, JIRA, Helpdesk, desktop and telecommunications experience. This individual also shares a key leadership role in employee technology experience, business continuity/disaster recovery, information security, VMware, WAN and IT projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages the performance, maintenance, reporting and documentation of IBEW & United Workers’ entire IT infrastructure. Responsible for ensuring systems are efficient, secure and supportive of organizational goals and that uptime meets established standards.
- Manages the helpdesk, systems administration and communications infrastructure. Provides regular operational guidance, coaching and performance feedback.
- Ensures support staff delivers excellent customer service including monitoring, tracking, and reporting. Provides technical support and handles business critical escalations.
- Ensures appropriate system backups and recovery, log files, security and system configuration.
- Responsible for hardware/software upgrades, including our core and financial systems, telecommunications, data center infrastructure and other technology systems.
- Communicates with the organization regularly, both individually and collectively, on current system status, disruptions, outages, resolution timelines, maintenance windows, etc.
- Recommends and assists with purchasing computer hardware and software, ensuring uniformity and compatibility with existing systems while maintaining high security standards.
- Evaluates and recommends new technology tools which may enhance productivity or create efficiencies.
- Recommends and implements programs and procedures in conjunction with Federal, State and local recommendations.
- Responsible for thorough testing of all system enhancements, updates and program changes to ensure their accuracy. Ensures user acceptance testing is complete.
- Administers and support the LAN and some WAN networks including, but not limited to, structure, design, user access, security, software, hardware and maintenance.
- Assist/Leads implementations, reporting, monitoring and documentation of hardware and software inventories, system standards, network diagrams and security systems.
- Assists in implementing security, compliance and other safeguards or measures. Assist in evolving, testing and supporting the business continuity / disaster recovery plan.
- Serves as liaison with our employees, management, and vendors to define computing and telecommunications requirements; recommend appropriate technology infrastructure investments. Manages technology vendors.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Minimum two-year degree in Information Systems or a business-related field, or at least five years of applicable experience including managing on premise environments.
- Strong problem solving and technical capabilities include the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong leadership and results driven skills required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information simply and effectively to management, vendors, and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, incorporating sound judgment in decisions and problem solving.
- Excellent understanding of end-user needs and ability to translate them into action.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and troubleshoot problems.
- Excellent organization, time management and follow up skills.
- Passion for process improvement and a commitment to end-user satisfaction.
- IT industry network infrastructure and security certifications are highly preferred.
- Financial institution or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
