As the IT + Systems Manager, you will be responsible for leading our technology operations + supporting our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, software development + programming, with experience in managing + supporting manufacturing IT systems + equipment. This role is pivotal in driving technology innovation + maintaining the smooth operation of our IT environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage daily IT operations to ensure infrastructure efficiency, security + the adoption of up-to-date technology, including the installation, configuration, maintenance + troubleshooting of servers, network hardware + production-related IT solutions (AutoCAD, Mastercam, MES, Cabinet Vision, and/or ERPs).

· Plan, execute + document IT projects, including system upgrades, network improvements + new technology implementations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards + timelines.

· Implement + maintain cybersecurity protocols to protect company data, systems + develop disaster recovery plans for business continuity.

· Leverage technology + data analysis to assist + identify opportunities for process improvement + innovation in manufacturing operations, optimizing production processes + supporting decision-making.

· Integrate IT systems with production machinery to enable seamless data flow + automation, ensuring efficient + effective operations.

· Provide advanced technical support + training to staff, resolving complex issues + ensuring effective use of IT systems and tools.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT management, software development + programming.
  • Strong skills in manufacturing IT systems + familiarity with system customization.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision + Mastercam is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational + project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently + as part of a team.
  • Knowledge or passion for woodworking, cabinetry, or the home building industry is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS + ATTITUDES

  • Technical skills: Technical skills are critical for the IT + Systems Manager to manage + customize manufacturing IT systems. This role requires proficiency in software development, programming languages + network infrastructure management.
  • Communication skills: Communication skills are fundamental for this role to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical staff + collaborate with other departments. They must have strong written + verbal communication skills to document IT processes, provide training, report on project progress + technical issues.
  • Attention to detail: Attention to detail is essential for ensuring the reliability + security of IT systems. The IT + Systems Manager must be meticulous in monitoring, maintaining, and documenting systems, as well as in complying with industry regulations and managing user access controls.
  • Problem-solving skills: Problem-solving skills are crucial for diagnosing + resolving complex IT issues swiftly. They must be innovative in identifying + implementing technology solutions, adaptive in emergencies, analytical in evaluating system performance + identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Mechanical aptitude: Mechanical aptitude is important for understanding how IT systems interact with manufacturing machinery. The IT + Systems Manager must be capable of integrating + supporting industrial needs, troubleshooting hardware issues + assessing the intersection of IT systems with manufacturing operations.
