JOB DESCRIPTION

Post-Award Grants Manager

Summary/Objective:

The goal of this work is to support Integral Youth Services’ ever growing capacity and to ensure we are good stewards of public funds. The Post Award Grants manager will work within the Finance department to ensure grant negotiations, tracking, reporting, and closing, while staying within the guidelines of the organization and our grantors.

Essential Functions

Onboarding - Manage the process of accepting funding, including creating/maintaining grant profiles, and training staff on new grants.

Funder Communications - Alongside the leadership team to oversee the funding, and serves as a secondary point of contact, and communicating with funders regarding the management of active funding.

Grant Management - Remains in close contact acting as a liaison between the programs and finance department regarding the execution of funding within the scope of work written in the grant or contract.

Reporting - Facilitates the development of required reports, tracks due dates, gathers data from programs, and is compliant with funders requests.

Compliance - Ensures the agency is able to meet the conditions in the grant award agreement, including programming and reporting. Ensures all grant requirements are met by proactively working across sectors to review activities and raise potential compliance issues in a timely manner.

Impact Measurement - Work with agency programs to collect data, track progress, and generate reports, otherwise tracking and quantifying outcomes under the funding awards. Supports program teams in completing required measurement and evaluation.

Award Close Out - Works with the Finance Department and the agency programs to ensure funding is spent down by the end of the period of performance. Manages final reporting requirements and other close out activities.

  • Cooperatively works with other team members and multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Completes special projects specific to the function of the department or as needed for the department as directed.

  • Ability to manage multiple processes, calendars, and deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct staff supervisory responsibilities, but does supervise grants and grant processes.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment, off site venues and outside event areas in various weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Position begins as a part-time position, 20 hours per week, with the ability to move into a full time position, 40 hours per week. IYS operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required for training or other occasions.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in social sciences, communication or related field.

2. Prior experience as a grant manager for a public or nonprofit employer.

3. Prior experience in a non-profit resource, finance, or staff position.

Classification: Non-exempt

Salary: $17-19/hr DOE

Reports to: Finance Director

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 17 – 19 per week
