Operations Director Job Description

The Operations Director provides strong leadership skills to manage and improve the efficiency of IYS's organizational operations.

Responsibilities

Daily Operations Management and Supervision

  • Supervisor of our facilities infrastructure, IT contractor, and Maintenance, including long-term projects and goals.
  • Participate and represent, when appropriate, at local, state, and federal peer/partner work groups.
  • Developing new and improving current operational procedures and policies.
  • Develop and maintain crisis preparedness, emergency planning, and quarterly safety meetings.
  • Support the IVS by ensuring programs comply with State and Federal regulatory requirements for a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
  • Work with ED to develop and update Organizational Policies that meet legal, funding, and partner requirements.

Project Management

  • Work with the executive director to coordinate the implementation of the current strategic plan.
  • Manage, plan, and execute special projects.
  • Manage tangible assets and maintain/upgrade information technology systems to meet the agency's needs.
  • Manage and support new software/tool selection and implementation.
  • Help us move from paper files, excel, and Access database to Case Management software for files and to report outcomes for youth.
  • Support improvement of existing software and tools
  • Overseeing hiring packets and employee reviews.

Grant and Contract Development

  • Be aware of, evaluate, and recommend federal, state, and private funding avenues supporting IVS to end youth homelessness, including Family Youth Services Bureau, Housing and Urban Development, Oregon Department of Human Services, KLCAS, FEMA, and Oregon Department of Education.
  • With a teamwork and process approach, apply for grant and contract opportunities by developing logic models with goals and outcomes. Assist with the writing of compelling budget, organizational, and program narratives.
  • Ensure grants are in compliance and reporting is relevant, accurate, efficient, timely, and data actionable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in management and policy administration.
  • At least five years of grant development and compliance experience.
  • Project management and supervision experience.
  • Skill in writing policy and other documentation that is well-organized and easy to follow.
  • Ability to work independently but able to thrive in our highly collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to employ flexibility and creativity in the face of ambiguity and challenge.
  • Ability to take ownership and drive activities to completion.
  • Good customer service ethic and professionalism working with co-workers and partners.
  • Servant leadership experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
