Woofinwaggle is eagerly looking to add an experienced junior dog groomer to our facility in North Raleigh. Woofinwaggle is a fun, loving, and playful team atmosphere where our focus is pampering pups! We are looking to add an outgoing dog lover who has some grooming experience (face trims, feet/paw trims, sanitary trims) to our team. Our location serves a wide variety of dogs of all sizes and breeds. Our spa includes 6 hydraulic lift tubs for bathing dogs, all-natural dog shampoos and washes, blow dryers and more. We are proud to be the only dog wash in Raleigh to offer all human grade bath products made in the US, as well as Certified USDA Organic product lines.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in providing grooming services such as face trims, paw pad/feet trims, sanitary trims, and de-matting as needed.
- Perform grooming services, including brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, anal gland cleaning, bathing and drying.
- Assist in check in and check out procedures
- Interact with dog parents in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service and addressing their grooming-related inquiries.
- Suggest grooming products to dog parents
- Follow the Woof’s grooming policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure quality and consistency in all areas of the Spaw.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including disinfecting & sanitizing grooming tools and equipment, along with daily cleaning of the Spaw & Boutique.
- Assist in Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations.
Qualifications:
- Must be a dog lover!
- Previous experience working with animals, such as volunteering at a shelter, pet sitting, or assisting in a grooming salon is required. Must have some experience with face trims and other types of trims.
- Passion for animals and genuine interest in pursuing a career in the pet area.
- Basic knowledge of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices
- Ability to handle and restrain pets of various sizes and temperaments with care and compassion.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with pet parents and team members
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy pets and perform repetitive tasks. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 40 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required. We are closed Sundays & Mondays!
Pay range $14 - $16 per hour plus tips with the ability to move into a groomer’s commission pay after a minimum of 12 months of probationary period. Benefits include 401K & Free telehealth.
