SUMMARY: The Kitchen Supervisor executes company objectives by managing the edible manufacturing team operations including producing edible batches, inventory management, batch data compilation, processing product, real time weight reporting, supply inventory management, and coordinates packaging schedule. Responsible for all aspects of edible manufacturing and tasked with providing strong leadership & support, the Kitchen Supervisor will work with and report to the Kitchen Manager. Kitchen Supervisor implements good manufacturing practices & safety policies and follows regulatory compliance that adheres to the regulations established by the Illinois Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act and the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· The Kitchen Supervisor will manage the edible manufacturing staff in accomplishing set production results, establishing priorities, implementing safety & good manufacturing practices, monitoring the production progress and quality controls, resolving problems, and reports the data to company production summaries daily.
· Kitchen Supervisor is to closely track inventory of ingredients & supplies necessary to complete all production duties throughout the manufacturing process; including but not limited to: raw and dry ingredients, cookware, gloves, PPE, tags, trash bags, and other related supplies
· Completes production goals by assigning employees and providing oversight on work results and performance metrics. Furthermore, The Kitchen Supervisor will ensure staff are always busy laboring in the facility and/or working on selected production tasks as directed by the Leadership team.
· Follows and manages department cleaning procedures for the edible manufacturing team, the Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for daily breakdown and sanitizing of production machines & filling equipment.
· Operate, Train, and Maintain proper utilization of edible manufacturing equipment including but not limited to: fire mixers, sugar pullers, depositors, roper/sizers, cookers, sifters, and wrapping equipment. Furthermore, the Kitchen Supervisor will maintain document-controlled training logs on equipment.
· Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality of products within edible manufacturing processes, ensuring standard operating procedures are being followed and reports discrepancies to the leadership team.
· Maintain department specific documents by revising policies and procedures within document control systems.
· Manage and facilitate testing processes and closely track inventory of lab sample batches for edible department. Furthermore, it is the Kitchen Supervisor’s responsibility to maintain test results for products within company and state databases, overseeing stability testing of edibles, and reporting & resolving testing bottlenecks due to failures, retesting, and systematic errors.
· Upholds production results by coaching and counseling the staff. Kitchen Supervisor will closely monitor and appraise all team members collectively and individually in terms of job results.
· Reports to the leadership team if potential bottlenecks in production and/or forecasting arise.
· Notifies the leadership team of additional planning needs in advance of production batches, employee vacations, illnesses, and all other areas relating to the edible manufacturing staff.
· Maintains professional and technical cannabis knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, and participating in professional societies.
· Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality of products within edible manufacturing processes, ensuring standard operating procedures are being followed and reports discrepancies to the leadership team.
· Perform additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be at least 21 years of age
· Previous kitchen experience required
· 2 + years people & operations management
· Valid Food Service Certificate (training provided)
· HACCP Certified to work within GMP kitchen
· Reliable; dependable
· Focused and results driven
· High attention to detail
· Intermediate computer skills – Office 365; word, excel, email
· Flexibility to pivot on tasks as directed
· Certain situations require that work is completed on weekends, after hours, and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and push/pull up to 70 lbs.
· Ability to perform the following physical tasks: Periods of prolonged sitting and standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes.
· Must pass any and all required background check
· Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
· Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
