Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Field Technician to oversee and manage our on-site operations. This pivotal role serves as the face of S&K during field engagements, ensuring that all installations meet our rigorous standards for safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will excel in communication and demonstrate daily proactive interactions with Field Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Lead field operations for installation, maintenance, and inspections of overhead crane systems, Jib cranes, electronic/pneumatic chain hoist, lever hoist and numerous other types of industrial crane systems.
· Interpret industrial blueprints and provide guidance on technical specifications to ensure accurate installation.
· Problem-solve on-site challenges, making decisions that align with company objectives and customer expectations.
· Communicate effectively with Field Manager daily to report progress and align on project deliverables.
· Coordinate logistics and oversee the procurement of materials and equipment as needed.

· Conduct safety audits to ensure all activities comply with regulatory and company standards.
· Train and mentor field technicians fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership to field team, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
· Evaluate team performance regularly, providing feedback and to Field Manager and supporting coaching to foster a productive work environment.
· Enforce company policies and safety regulations on job site.
Competencies:
· Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing scenarios.
· Strategic planning abilities with proven track record of improving teams’ performance.
· Deep understanding of technical aspects including the use of power tools, operating forklifts, and reading blueprints.
· High competency in problem solving, with excellent reasoning skills to resolve complex issues.
· Exceptional leadership and communication skills, serving as the primary company representative on site.
Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Thorough knowledge of industrial installations.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role within an industrial or field service environment.
· General contracting knowledge a plus.
· Basic electrical knowledge.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch for extended periods. Must be able to work on the shop floor standing for 9-10 hours a day.
· Must handle exposure to dust, fumes, loud noises, and varied temperatures.
· Must be able to perform repetitive heavy lifting. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Hours are somewhat flexible and some late evenings may be required.
Travel:
Travel Required-mostly in IN, IL
Work Environment:
Predominantly field-based, inside industrial locations.
