Job Overview
Are you an experienced lead carpenter looking for a positive, team-oriented, family AND employee-owned company? Then JG Development is the right fit for you! JG Development is seeking Full-Time Lead Framing Carpenter to join their team. JG Development lead carpenters ensure safe, high quality construction of new and remodeled custom homes, local businesses, and community and non profit organizations for our five divisions: Brio Design Homes, Vive Home Transformations, National Construction and NCI-Roberts Construction, and Supreme Structures. The lead framing carpenter will specialize in residential work but have the opportunity to gain experience in commercial work as well. Tasks range and include framing new custom homes, remodels, and additions. The lead framing carpenter will collaborate with our project managers to ensure that project goals are met, the team understands goals, work is done to our quality standard in a safe way.
No two projects will be the same.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage carpentry projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within specifications.
- Perform various carpentry tasks including installation, framing, and restoration work
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies on the construction site
- Conduct regular inspections of work performed to maintain quality standards.
- Build roof systems, install windows, stairs, frame fireplaces, and other structures as needed.
- Perform standards of workmanship that meet the projects requirements that are consistent with industry best-practice.
- Work with the crew to accomplish all tasks.
- Inventory materials and calculate material needs.
- Inspect work for quality standards.
- Train carpenters and laborers as needed.
- Maintain tools, cords and equipment so that they are kept in good working order and are safe
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in framing techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical labor as required.
- A valid driver's license may be required for transportation to job sites.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for continuous periods of time
