Full job description

The Westminster Presbyterian Church Preschool is looking for compassionate, loving, self-motivated candidates for Lead Preschool Teacher at our state-licensed child care center in Snellville. We are hiring a lead teachers for our classroom to educate and positively impact the children of our school while maintaining our core Christian values. We are 3-star Quality Rated.


  • Create plans for daily activities in line with the school curriculum, Creative Curriculum®
  • Assess and respond to each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis
  • Engage with young children in activities that are age-appropriate and bear educational merit
  • Foster a positive and healthy learning environment
  • Ensure the classroom is kept in a clean and safe condition at all times
  • Read stories to the children as a group activity
  • Encourage creative thinking and learning
  • Interact with other teachers and administrative staff as needed
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures and the regulations of local, state, or national agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
  • Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence in a safe environment

Job Requirements:

  • Certification, degree or minimum coursework in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum of one-year experience working in a licensed childcare facility
  • Minimum of one-year previous teaching or assistant teacher with a public or private school system, a quality preschool, child care center or church preschool
  • Must be willing to participate in any and all Christian curriculum and activities practiced at the preschool
  • Knowledge of social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
  • Be able to handle, in a positive way, the demands that contact with many children and parents bring every day
  • Be able to build rapport with parents to communicate students’ child development and progress goals and provide superior customer service
  • Be able to evaluate and solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety and potential emergency situations., and be able to see, hear, and respond to children's needs, including reaching high, stooping to the child's level, sitting on the floor and rising from the floor
  • Must be able to see, hear, and react to emergencies within 50 feet in 15 seconds or less and have the ability to stand and move around for long hours at a time while teaching
  • Proficient computer skills in a variety of teaching-related programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Obtain and maintain Georgia’s in-service training requirements
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified and be able to pass background checks

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
