Payment: $50/ assessment

MISSION STATEMENT:

Partners Behavioral Healthcare provides substance use and mental health services using evidence-based programing empowering individuals toward sustained positive change.

JOB SUMMARY:

The independently contracted Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) / SUD Assessor plays a key role in determining the appropriate admission for clients who struggle with substance use disorder.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) / SUD Assessor is responsible for performing substance use disorder assessments, coordinating with referents and aiding client placement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Independent worker and self-starter.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, respectfully and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Preparedness screening for and working with clients with mental health problems, through education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge and understanding of implications of 245G.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Understanding of industry-specific policies, such as the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) regulations for health care.

SUD ASSESSOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Comprehensive Assessments utilizing ASAM criteria and contact collateral immediately following the service. Complete the assessment within 3 calendar days unless the collateral is delaying their response. If collateral does not reply within 7 days, proceed without their involvement.
  • Upon service initiation, ensure that each client has an initial service plan which addresses the client’s immediate health, safety, and preliminary service needs.
  • Coordinate referral with clients and other interested parties for SUD service placement.
  • Engage clients in the decision-making process and help them understand the benefits of assessment and accessing the appropriate level of care as indicated.
  • Notify Admissions Financial Representative upon intake conversion (client is choosing Partners Behavioral Healthcare for services) for a commercial or private pay client/
  • Ensure the content and format of client records be uniform and entries in each case are signed and dated.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18 years of age.
  • Must be Alcohol Drug Counselor Temporary (ADC-T) or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
  • Knowledge and experience using Procentive.
  • 2 years of experience as a LADC / SUD Assessor.
  • Knowledge and understanding the implication of this chapter, sections 626.557, and 626.5572, and chapters 254A and 260E.
  • Ability to successfully complete MN Dept of Human Services background study.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years of experience as a LADC / SUD Assessor.

Master’s degree in related field.

Additional licenses: LPC, LPCC, LICSW, LP

CONTINUED EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Stay current regarding professional research, techniques, etc.
  • Complete continuing education courses in current treatment concepts and methods as required by the State of Minnesota to maintain an active LADC licensure status.
  • Attend in-house training and staff meetings.
