Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Therapist or Pre-Licensed Therapists to join our team. For Pre-Licensed candidates, supervision hours are provided free of charge! The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with senior citizens and a commitment to improving their mental health and quality of life. As a therapist at Guiding Star Mental Health, you will provide individual and group therapy sessions, develop personalized treatment plans, and work closely with facility staff to support our clients' mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for senior citizens in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and retirement communities.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
• Collaborate with facility staff, family members, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all ethical and legal standards.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
• MUST HAVE current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) equivalent in the state of Tennessee, or be Pre-Licensed for certification.
• Strong understanding of the unique mental health needs of senior citizens, or willingness to learn and be trained.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to client care.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation.
