We seek a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) administers care consistent with the standard of care, including Administering medications by the LPN's scope of practice; providing personal hygiene assistance or total care; assistance with ADLs; transporting patients to various destinations throughout the facility for tests and treatments and admission; proactively managing room turnover, cleaning rooms between patients; assists with waiting room flow management; monitoring of vital signs; and initiating IV sites.

Qualifications required:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience as an LPN.
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN Program.
  • LPN License under Compact License Agreement
  • Current BCLS, CPR, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certification
  • Educational requirements appropriate for meeting age-specific needs of patients presenting to the emergency center, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, including emergency procedures required to stabilize patients of all ages.
  • Validate clinical skills outlined in the orientation checklist and maintain annual clinical competency.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Essential Job functions and responsibilities:

  • Provide care and carry out a medicinal therapy regime.
  • Report and record vital sign assessment and measurement and collect specimens.
  • Observe the patient for any physical and emotional change and report observations.
  • Administering medication under the direct authority of an RN or physician.

Nonessential Job Functions:

  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor/department director.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant: Vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus); Hearing; Speaking; Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; Walk; Sit; Balance; Repetitive motions; Using arm, leg and back muscles for extended periods.
  • Frequent: Bend, Squat, Twist, Push/Pull up to 20 pounds without assistance; up to 50 with assistance; Lift/Carry up to 20 pounds without assistance; up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Occasional: Climb, Kneel, Crouch, Distinguish Colors, Exposure to noise/high-pitched noise, Exposure to hazards, allergens, toxins/chemicals/detergents/radiation
  • Rarely: Exposure to potential electric shock; Work in a confined area
  • Other: Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including gloves, gowns, goggles, and masks.
  • Potential exposure to infectious disease.
  • Potential for cuts and bruises.
