Full job description
The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Compliance & Inspection Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all compliance regulations are met for the properties that NIFA oversees. This role is responsible for performing site inspections & auditing annual reports while also being a main point of contact for property managers.
Essential Job Functions
- Actively participate in and contribute to achievement of NIFA’s strategic objectives and departmental goals.
- Maintain knowledge of guidelines and best practices for the LIHTC Program.
- Schedule & conduct on-site physical inspections.
- Analyze & process inspection reports.
- Complete annual LIHTC compliance reports.
- Review LIHTC tenant files and documentation
- Assist owners and property managers with any compliance questions.
- Direct tenants to resources available to them.
- Work with inspection software vendor to ensure things are working smoothly.
- Assist the LIHTC Compliance Manager/LIHTC Assistant Compliance Manager on special projects.
- Answer all phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Some knowledge of LIHTC Compliance.
- NSPIRE training preferred.
- Valid drivers license.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in Business, Finance, Real Estate Management, or a related field or bachelor’s degree.
