Full job description

The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Compliance & Inspection Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all compliance regulations are met for the properties that NIFA oversees. This role is responsible for performing site inspections & auditing annual reports while also being a main point of contact for property managers.

Essential Job Functions

Actively participate in and contribute to achievement of NIFA’s strategic objectives and departmental goals.
Maintain knowledge of guidelines and best practices for the LIHTC Program.
Schedule & conduct on-site physical inspections.
Analyze & process inspection reports.
Complete annual LIHTC compliance reports.
Review LIHTC tenant files and documentation
Assist owners and property managers with any compliance questions.
Direct tenants to resources available to them.
Work with inspection software vendor to ensure things are working smoothly.
Assist the LIHTC Compliance Manager/LIHTC Assistant Compliance Manager on special projects.
Answer all phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Some knowledge of LIHTC Compliance.
NSPIRE training preferred.
Valid drivers license.
At least three (3) years of relevant experience in Business, Finance, Real Estate Management, or a related field or bachelor’s degree.
