The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Compliance & Inspection Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all compliance regulations are met for the properties that NIFA oversees. This role is responsible for performing site inspections & auditing annual reports while also being a main point of contact for property managers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Actively participate in and contribute to achievement of NIFA’s strategic objectives and departmental goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of guidelines and best practices for the LIHTC Program.
  • Schedule & conduct on-site physical inspections.
  • Analyze & process inspection reports.
  • Complete annual LIHTC compliance reports.
  • Review LIHTC tenant files and documentation
  • Assist owners and property managers with any compliance questions.
  • Direct tenants to resources available to them.
  • Work with inspection software vendor to ensure things are working smoothly.
  • Assist the LIHTC Compliance Manager/LIHTC Assistant Compliance Manager on special projects.
  • Answer all phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Some knowledge of LIHTC Compliance.
  • NSPIRE training preferred.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in Business, Finance, Real Estate Management, or a related field or bachelor’s degree.
