An independent physician-owned orthopaedic practice designed to provide an unsurpassed level of care to patients is seeking a Limited Medical Radiologic Technician to add to our growing team! Our physicians are recognized regionally, nationally and internationally for their skill and expertise by their peers and by their patients. Our focus is to help patients regain mobility and reduce pain and discomfort while improving overall quality of life.

Position Summary:

The Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) assists the staff and physician by performing-rays, including but not limited to the hip and knee. The LMRT is responsible for explaining procedures to patients, setting up and operating X-ray equipment, and analyzing X-rays before handing the imaging information off to the physician. The LMRT is also responsible for order input and documentation in Athena electronic medical record.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a summary of the major functions of this position. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which may not be mentioned below, as well as specific functions may change from time to time.

· Performs all radiographic hip and knee exams and is responsible for all film quality

· Maintains radiation safety per departmental policy

· Keeps all x-ray equipment and supplies clean, maintained and stocked

· Records appropriate documentation related to x-ray in Athena electronic medical record

· Responsible for assisting patients to and from the x-ray room as needed

· Responsible for effective communication with physicians and other teammates

· Respects/promote patient rights, maintain confidentiality, and exhibit friendly/helpful behaviors

· Responds to emergencies in appropriate manner and according to policy.

· Follows all OSHA, HIPPA and departmental policies; perform quality control, record of data as necessary.

· All departmental/staff/operational problems reported to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner.

· Clerical duties may include scheduling, answering phone, filing, copying, completing forms/referrals/pre-certifications, obtaining demographic information, updating charts.

· Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

· Experience and training in a medical office required

· Knowledge and experience of x-ray practices, policies and procedures.

· Computer skills

· Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

· Must have knowledge of standard office and x-ray equipment operation.

· Must have problem solving, time management and teamwork skills.

· Work requires continual attention to detail.

· Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills required

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

· Required to stand for long periods of time.

· Physical contact with patient may be required

· Frequent use of keyboard, computer and telephone. Requires hand and manual dexterity.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent required

2. Limited Radiographer Certification required

4. Basic Life Support Certification required

5. Minimum 3-5 years of LMRT experience

6. Direct patient care experience required.
