Line Cook

Curio Wine Bistro and Bar, located in Downtown Fredericksburg, is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and experienced part-time line cook who is passionate about the intersection of food and wine and how those complement each other. The Curio kitchen offers a menu focused around wine-centric food with a different focus every month.

The ideal line cook will have commercial kitchen experience and will be organized, detail-oriented, and have a passion for presentation. This is a part-time position of approximately 20-25 hours each week (3-4 shifts per week). At least two shifts will take place on Fri-Sun.

Staff members also enjoy a generous staff discount and are paid weekly. There is no tip compensation with this position.

Essential Duties

• Prepare ingredients and complete daily mise en place
• Cook and plate dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Properly label, date, and store food items
• Work with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service

Job Requirements & Skills

• Must be 18 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States
• One year of commercial kitchen experience is required
• Basic knife skills and cooking knowledge
• Availability to work three to four kitchen shifts per week; priority will be on weekend hours
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to learn new things and work both independently and as a team player
• Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, squat, lift 40 lbs, and go up and down stairs repeatedly
• Active ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred; the ability to earn it within 30 days of hire is required if not already obtained
• Must maintain high standards of cleanliness and follow safety and compliance regulations
• Have reliable transportation
