Job Overview
LGT Transport is an industry leader in transporting cryogenic liquids, carbon dioxide, anhydrous ammonia / liquid propane, hydrogen, and other specialty gases. Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a motivated, meticulous and detail-oriented Log Auditor to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for examining and processing drivers’ daily logs and records to ensure compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (part 395) and internal policies.

Duties

  • ELD Auditing: Audit drivers’ ELD logs for specific information, including Hours of Service (HOS), Form and Manner, False Logs, Certifications and Supporting Documentation.
  • ELD Audit Results: Input audit results into the drivers’ HOS Scorecard and contact drivers to discuss audit results, both positive and negative. Calculate safety ratings and distribute reports to management.
  • Corrective Actions: Provide corrective action to drivers based on LGT’s HOS Policy.
  • Various ELD Reports: Run and monitor various ELD reports daily and communicate information to drivers and management.
  • ELD Training: Train new drivers on the use of the ELD during orientation and assist them with log corrections.
  • Paper Logs: Obtain copies of any paper logs and maintain them for the requisite retention period. Ensure all drivers always have 8 days of blank paper logs with them.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of FMCSA Hours of Service Regulations and ELD requirements.
  • Knowledge of US geography and map reading.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a service approach.
  • Ability to manage daily work with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate with and communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing company.
  • General proficiency with a computer, especially Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of transportation industry experience.
