1.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the support of market needs for the transportation, shipping, and delivery of our products to customers. The Logistics Manager will work closely with Sales, Operations, and other functions as needed to demonstrate and define advantages of our services to the customer as opportunities are uncovered. Close coordination on a daily basis with customer service, sales, and operations is essential. The Logistics Manager also handles logistics associated with the procurement of raw materials as necessary.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Qualify, select and manage trucking services including quality tracking.
- Define best alternatives for domestic and international shipments.
- Manage the truck fleet, including specifications, lease cost, number of trucks, cleaning, repairs and routine inspection.
- Manage tank truck fleet providing input on lease/purchase decisions, cleaning, repairs, number of trucks (whether leased or owned), and routine inspections.
- Ensure compliance with the Department of Transportation and other rules and regulations related to product shipments.
- Ensure that procedures are written, in place and being followed relative to all logistics activities involving the movement of products.
- Continually review the logistics operations to improve service performance to customers.
- Responsible for developing and overseeing distribution operations required to meet customer needs. Work with QHSE Director to ensure all environmental and safety issues are identified and met at all offsite facilities. Work with QHSE Director to ensure that liability and other risk management concerns are addressed satisfactorily.
- Responsible for all areas of transportation costs and transportation costs forecasting. Negotiates rates and contracts with suppliers for all modes of transportation for all products. Serves as primary interface with transportation providers. Develops program to reduce and minimize overall transportation costs. Remains in close contact with sales personnel to ensure their transportation and delivery needs are met. Routinely reports cost information.
- Act as the U.S. DOT regulation authority within Chemjet to ensure that company follows the spirit and letter of the law. Has responsibility to set up training programs for all individuals needing training in this area to ensure that corporation is in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
- Provides leadership in training and developing the employees in logistics and customer service functions in becoming more proficient, productive and professional.
- Skilled in the use of company computer systems and ERP systems, especially related to customer orders, purchasing and asset tracking.
- Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001:2015/AP1 Q1 requirements by complying with the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.

2.0 REQUIREMENTS
2.1 EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
2.2 EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in supply chain management and/or logistics, as well as warehouse operations, transportation, operations, or related experience.
- Experience with Intermodal transportation processes.
- Knowledge and experience with DOT/FMCSA and IMDG requirements and processes involving international shipments.
- Experience in managing transportation contracts is essential.
- Experience in dealing with customers and operating in context that corporation succeeds only if we satisfy customers.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015/AP1 Q1 environment a plus.
2.3 SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of related industries specifically chemicals.
- Knowledge of modes and regulations of shipment for liquid hazardous chemicals.
- Strong computer skills in spreadsheet, word-processing, and financial base software.
- Ability to work collegially with all corporate personnel and as part of a cross-functional team whether as the leader or participant.
- Ability to identify problems or potential problems and develop and implements solutions
3.0 PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
