JG Development, inc. is seeking a Limited Term Employment Commercial Construction Superintendent for a project in Fond Du Lac County, WI. We expect the project to start in August and run for about 10 months. We are looking for someone who can work with a team of people; has the ability to set goals and expectations, and hold others accountable. The purpose of the job is to complete a construction project by planning, organizing, and controlling the project; completing quality inspections and supervising employees and subcontractors. This position is responsible for the overall operation of the site by ensuring that the quality of work and materials is upheld, and the budget is followed as planned.

This role will focus on a specific project for our commercial division.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participating in pre-project and pre-task planning activities then disseminating planning details to field crews;
  • Motivating team members to work together to accomplish task, coordinate work activities with other construction project activities and assign work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs;
  • Ensuring crews are operating all tools and equipment in a safe, proper and productive manner;
  • Providing training and assistance to crews in the performance of work-related tasks;
  • Work involves performing skilled inspections within level of certification to determine the quality of workmanship; materials and safety precautions; work requires exercising judgment in interpreting and applying state codes;
  • Understand and enforce scope of work for all subcontractors per their sub contract;
  • Assist Project Manager in creating overall project schedule and then managing that schedule and updating management weekly;
  • Ensuring all employees and subcontractors are in compliance with safety requirements;
  • Lead and document weekly safety trainings for field employees;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and QUALIFCATIONS NEEDED:

  • High school degree or equivalent;
  • At least 6 years of experience in Construction with at least 5 of those years in a Foreman or Assistant Superintendent role;
  • Proven ability to supervise various levels of field managers as well as crew;
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and execute construction drawings and contract specifications
  • Proven experience to produce look-ahead schedules and work with other construction documents as required by the project;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the customer, crew, project manager and management;
  • Intermediate computer knowledge and efficiency along with construction math skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to follow through with solutions;
  • Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance is required;
  • Successful completion of background check.
