Full job description
Position Title – Machining Lead/Shift Supervisor
Department – Operations
Shift – 2nd 3:00PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Rate - $27/hr
Job Responsibilities
· Supervises staff to produce manufactured products, as well as organizing and monitoring workflow
· Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
· Onboards, trains, and provides mentorship for employees.
· Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
· Completes production plan by assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
· Assists scheduling team with completion of daily production scheduling
· Runs Haas CNC lathe, Mill and Mazak machining center
· Approves timecards, as well as manages time off requests for production team
· Maintains quality standards by establishing and enforcing production standards
· Provides manufacturing information by compiling production performance records and data, as well as answering questions and responding to requests
· Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques
· Assists Operations Manager with implementation of Lean Principles such as 5S
· Provides manufacturing information by compiling production performance records and data, as well as answering questions and responding to requests
· Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
· Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and content, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies

Education and Experience
· High School diploma, BS in Business Management or Engineering a plus
· 5 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
· 2-3 years prior supervisory experience
· 5 years of Machining experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
