Bode Equipment Company is a turn-key distributor of material handling systems, construction, and loading dock/door solutions. Headquartered in Londonderry, NH and having a branch location in Marlborough, Massachusetts, we are well positioned to service our clients throughout the region.

Job Summary: The Machinist will operate manual and CNC machines to create custom parts per the agreed Blueprints supplied. In collaboration with the Fabrication team, the Machinist will fabricate parts and develop solutions to solve problems for internal Installation, Service, and Construction Departments, as well as clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate mill and lathe manual and CNC machining equipment to produce parts from raw materials to machined parts.
  • Program the CNC machines with and without solid models.
  • Read and interpret blueprint drawings to correctly manufacture and finish parts per drawing specifications.
  • Create drawings for quoting and job purposes by reverse engineering custom needed parts for internal use and client projects.
  • Select the appropriate tools, accessories, and materials needed for each project. Make sure to notify office staff if something specific is needed for a project.
  • Measures parts throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with the drawing specifications. Adjust machines accordingly to resolve any production errors.
  • Complete full part inspections once all parts have been manufactured.
  • Collaborate with other Fabrication and Machining department employees to maintain project requirements on an as needed basis
  • Inspects machining and fabrication equipment for needed repairs and recommends maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment for self and others throughout the machining and fabrication departments.
  • Comply with all company, client, federal, and local safety standards and regulations.
  • All required certifications related to job duties shall be maintained and current during employment.
  • Performs other tasks as and duties as assigned to help job/career development.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical school training required. Apprenticeship preferred.
  • Experience with Solidworks and CAM Works preferred.
  • Production style machining experience preferred
  • Ability to operate various types of equipment for machining and fabrication purposes.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Develop drawings from reverse engineering processes for production purposes.
  • Must have excellent mechanical skills and ability to work with their hands.
  • Must have excellent time management skills to meet customer deadlines needs.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to pay attention to details.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, bend, for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time safely.
