ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs skilled work as required such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, painting, masonry, etc., safely and efficiently on the Masonic Care New Rochelle Campus.
Makes repairs on all types of equipment and fixtures according to manufacturer requirements, specifications and calibrations.
Operates various power tools and hand tools.
Responsible for installation of new equipment (appliances, electronics, etc.) according to manufacturer requirements, specifications, and calibrations.
Must be familiar with and able to operate low pressure heating equipment.
May operate and repair boilers if necessary.
Operates heavy equipment and various motor vehicles as required such as backhoe, snowplow, bulldozer, etc.
Maintain, repair and ensure the operation of all building systems including RTU’s, cooling towers, boilers, water treatment program, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection.
Maintains work area and shop in a neat, orderly, clean, and safe condition. Observes and follows established precautions when handling contaminated material and/or equipment.
Attends in-service programs (conducted by staff and manufacturer) as required.
Performs preventive maintenance and is responsible for maintaining appliances and electronic equipment in good working condition.
Safety check new equipment and equipment after repairs.
Maintains complete and accurate records, i.e. repairs, parts and equipment, inventory, preventive maintenance, service manuals, etc.
Assists in moving and rearranging of furniture and setting up facilities for special events.
Assists with snow removal.
Maintain facility ground free of trash and loose debris.
Advises supervisor of reason(s) why equipment was repaired or cannot be repaired.
Assists in the monitoring of third-party contractors, inspect work and generate deficiency reports.
Performs other related duties as requested.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of experience in three or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, painting, masonry, or refrigeration.
Valid driver license is required.
On call 24/7 for emergencies.
Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, tenants, and contractors/vendors.
Professional attitude and workmanship.
Ability to demonstrate exemplary tenant relations and provide excellent customer service.
The base salary range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education & prior accomplishments.
The position may be eligible for additional compensation not listed here, including but not limited to shift differentials, incentives or bonuses, as applicable.
