For over 50 years, Spunstrand® Inc. has furnished miles of underslab HVAC duct systems, above ground industrial and municipal duct systems and various special applications. Installations are in every state and foreign countries. All these years and miles of pipe have produced a multitude of reliable services available to engineers, contractors, and architects.
What We Need
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning in our Wallace, Idaho factory. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge.

What the Position Entails

- Checks oil and fluids and brief inspection of all the forklifts. Test all controls while driving lifts to fill propane tanks. Lube if needed
- Set-up large pipe winder
- Fabricate parts/projects as needed
- Assist Tooling in fabrication of molds
- Check fluids weekly and change oil every 1500-2000 miles in pickup truck.
- Test and calibrate micrometers, scales and Barcol tools monthly
- Change filters as necessary.
- Maintain air compressors
- Maintain FRP chopper and gel coat equipment
- Maintain shop tools
- Maintain dust collector, change dust bags every 4-6 months lube as needed.
- Repair or replace air hoses when needed. Inspect air hoses every 3 months.
- Maintain and PM pipe winders
- Change light bulbs, and ballasts as needed. Add new lighting when needed.
- Suck dust off lights and ledges with shop vacuum when room is available for manlift access.
- Check every day with winding machine. Lube chain as needed.
- Plow snow when needed. Service plow truck as needed. Apply ice melt in walk areas.
- Yard Maintenance
- Repair roof as needed
- Fill out daily maintenance log.
- Document maintenance procedures
- Create PM program following basic TPM principles
- Attends staff trainings and meetings as requested.
- Adheres to the company’s principles, demonstrating behaviors that support teamwork and a positive work environment.

The experience and education we are looking for
- High school diploma or GED
- Formal millwright and welding training certification preferred
- Welding, fabrication, millwright, and basic electrical skills required.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Continual standing and walking during shift
- Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift
- Continual climbing, balancing, kneeling and crouching during shift
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Work with OSHA controlled chemicals. SDS will be provided prior to start of position.
Final details
This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This role routinely uses standard hand tools related to preventative maintenance of equipment and systems. This is full-time. Employee is expected to work 40 hours per work week. Events may occur during evenings and weekends. Travel may be required occasionally between the factory and corporate office.
