Full job description

This is an ideal position for a bilingual English-Spanish speaking professional who loves children, families and computers! That's because there is a fair amount of data entry and record keeping associated with the position. Even if your computer skills aren't great, but you're willing to learn, we will train you.

Perfect for students - we will work around your schedule if possible. May turn into full-time permanent!

This position requires all of the following (we pay for the training):

1. CPR/1st Aid

2. Level 2 Background Check (DCF)

3. Driver's License and/or reliable means of transportation or getting to work

*This job requires a fair amount of organization and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities at a time.
* You will work on Prodigy Cultural Arts, Straz Center Partnership and other FICS programming

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide support to instructors and administration in Prodigy program, including but not limited to: classroom management, co-teaching, crisis intervention, record keeping

2. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

3. Document activities through sign ins, collect and compile statistics on the program as required.

4. Conduct home visits and recruit as needed

5. Serve as a role model for participants,modeling exemplary behavior.

6. Network with federal, state, county and community agencies to deliver services and promote program.

7. Assist clients in coordinating servicesand navigating services (in their own language).

8. Advocate and translate on behalf of clients as needed.

9. Communicate and reach clients through phone calls, letters or other correspondence.

10. Conduct presentations for the program and parents.

11. Clean up and maintain the Center.

12. Supervise and help youth become leaders through community service.

13. Help fund-raise and work as a team member.

14. Other duties as assigned.

FICS holds 4-5 showcases per year, often in the evening or weekend. You will have adequate lead time to plan for these but they are mandatory for staff.
