A finance role that straddles the worlds of health care and education. Sounds crazy? Not really; Especially when you’re talking about a position at a ground-breaking organization like CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.

As we prepare to open our latest program in 2023 - the Mary Francis Bachmann School - CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health is seeking qualified candidates with financial services and accounting experience to serve as our Manager - Financial Operations. The position will support and monitor the financial operations of both our behavioral health programs and our schools. The role includes both engagement with both medical billing and reimbursement as well as tuition management and offers the successful applicant a diverse and engaging range of responsibilities.

As the Manager - Financial Operations at CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health the successful applicant will:

  • Maintain local financial records for CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health operations.
  • Monitor and report on accounts payable and accounts receivables for contracted and non-contracted revenue generating programs and recommend appropriate actions to assure receipts are accurate and consistent with industry standards for services provided.
  • Oversee the claims submission, review and appeals process as well as tuition collection process on behalf of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
  • Participate in the development of strategy, relationships, and contracts with local and national payers to further drive a clear and effective negotiation strategy, reimbursement structure, contract renewal planning process, and contract implementation.
  • Budget and forecast performance and growth requirements
  • Generate impact reports for CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health leadership
  • Secure and maintain service contracts with appropriate payers.
  • Maintains compliance with regard to state, federal and CommonSpirit guidelines.

Applicants must meet the following requirements;

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Management , or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a medical office/administration - behavioral health experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working with health care accounting practice management softwares and required. Experience with education institution accounting is preferred.
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) preferred.

Skill Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Comfort working with computers.
  • Demonstrate a high comfort working with diverse populations and an understanding of the cultural and social barriers that can exist when accessing health or health-related care.
  • Promote a positive team-based approach to operations and leadership.
