The mission of Centinela Youth Services, Inc. (CYS) is to strengthen families and communities by empowering youth to resolve conflicts and overcome obstacles in order to become successful students and contributing adults.

CYS is a 501c3 non-profit, Restorative Justice organization established in 1975 operating a variety of innovative programs proven to increase student performance, reduce school dropout rates, gang involvement, youth violence and crime which ultimately helps preserve families. This work is leading innovation that is transforming youth justice in LA and the state with a commitment to both youth development and serving victims of youth crime, while impacting systemic change to end the school to prison pipeline. CYS is also providing leadership to critical juvenile justice reform in LA County and is growing rapidly as a result.

Compensation

This is a nonexempt full-time position, including benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience. All full-time employees are invited to participate in the company’s health benefits package after completing the 60-90-day employment introductory period. Our benefits program includes select health plans and dental plans at 100% cost reimbursement (for employee only), vision insurance, time off accruals and holiday pay.

Schedule

This is a full-time position. CYS has the following 9/80 work schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8am – 6pm. Friday, 8am – 5pm, with every other Friday off.

Work Location

This position will require both remote work and time in our Inglewood, CA office.

General Functions and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief of Operations, this leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Operations team supporting CYS. CYS has a budget of approximately $4 million, approximately 30 staff members, 60+ volunteers, and is preparing for significant growth. This critical role is the strategic, logistical leader focused on processes, people, and technology that support quality, continuity, and longevity of operations. CYS is looking for a value driven, impact focused individual to support both the internal members and community.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Provide strategic leadership and daily management for core operational functions, including information technology, human resources, finance, & legal/contracts.
Modeling, fostering, and supporting employees in the CYS culture of care for one another and the community, including supporting initiatives that promote employee engagement, communication, and collaboration.
Collaborate with the Chief of Operations regarding vision and execution for initiatives specific to Operations.
Participate as a member of the leadership team providing collaboration, leadership and support for cross-functional initiatives including but not limited to coordination, problem solving, and project management.
Define, implement, and revise operational policies and guidelines for the organization.
Work with Executive Director and other Program leadership to provide operational support for programs enabling growth and sustainability.
Work with all members of the CYS leadership, including the Board, to ensure successful communication and coordination for planning and execution of sustainable agency solutions.
Support budget planning and oversight along with day-to-day fiscal processes as required.
Oversight of reporting necessary for stakeholders to make decisions including but not limited to key performance indicators associated with contract minimums and financial reporting.
Own and support internal and external audits as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
