Full job description
BIRNS, Inc. is an AS9100 certified global leader in the design and manufacturing of high-performance underwater connectors, subsea cable assemblies, subsea lighting, dive lights, and nuclear facility lighting. BIRNS is seeking an energetic, experienced “hands-on” Manufacturing Engineer- Process.
The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) designs, sets up and optimizes our processes so that goods are produced in a process-controlled and cost-effective manner, delivering zero-defect products, on time, for total customer satisfaction. The ME is responsible for designing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, environmental and safety controls into each process. Our ME designs, develops, tests, and evaluates integrated systems for managing industrial manufacturing processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Our ME is responsible for writing detailed Work Instructions and Operational Procedures.
Pay for this position is negotiable, and is based on demonstrated experience and skill.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in manufacturing or industrial or electrical engineering from a technical college or university, and ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with wiring/J-STD-001/IPC-610/WHMA-A-620-A is helpful.
Proficiency in 5S, Lean, and SPC is strongly desired.
Other certifications or training such as Six Sigma or similar is strongly preferred but not required. ANSI/TIA/EIA-455 experience is a plus.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
