We are seeking a talented, creative and entrepreneurial team player who is passionate about business strategy, identifying win opportunities and who thrives on the adrenaline of short turnaround projects.

As the Marketing Director, you will be critical to helping us win new business, retain existing clients and maintain a pulse on the market. Your primary focus will be to project manage, write, and produce responses to government Request for Proposals (RFPs) and develop other business development marketing materials as needed. You will also be responsible for developing the company’s overall marketing strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the proposal process from kick-off to interview: develop proposal schedule and coordinate team members to ensure established deadlines are met, identify and communicate risks.
  • Improve proposal-writing results by gathering data on competitor services and solutions and how to best position the company offerings uniquely in the marketplace
  • Prepare and develop proposal materials including writing, editing, verifying data and formatting.
  • Manage the production and delivery of proposals.
  • Support team through the interview process: develop marketing materials to support a winning presentation and coordinate team interview rehearsals.
  • Continuously update essential proposal components such as resumes, narratives, case studies, templates, etc.
  • Maintain a database of proposal templates; proposal-writing standards for readability, consistency and tone; maintaining a high degree of consistency across all proposals
  • Regularly research industry procurement opportunities (requests for proposal, request for information, request for quotation, etc.) and create a pipeline of potential job opportunities and proposal responses
  • Prepare updates for senior management on the proposal pipeline and status of individual RFPs
  • Gather and analyze feedback received from clients and sales regarding proposal responses
  • Lead company’s understanding of industry expectations and proposal writing best practices
  • Research and initialize contact with potential companies to team with on proposal responses (when appropriate)
  • Prepare presentations, evaluate wording, text, graphics and coordinate printing as needed
  • Create an annual company marketing plan that includes the marketing strategy, budget and implementation plan
  • Create and maintain the company’s online and social media presence

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in writing and managing business development proposals, as well as sales and marketing communications.
  • Able to successfully manage the full-spectrum of core responsibilities collaboratively, independently, or with limited over-sight, and consistently solve complex problems to move the RFP process forward at any given stage.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Persuasive and succinct writing style that can effectively convey the company’s value proposition.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, superior attention to detail, and ability to interface with internal stakeholders to ensure quality of proposal and timeliness of submission to client.
  • Strong knowledge of social media and online marketing strategies
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Adobe InDesign (Desired).

Education

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, Finance, or related field. MBA a plus.
  • 3 years of experience in proposal writing, RFP submissions, presentation skills (government proposal writing a plus)
