Job Summary:
The Data Analyst is responsible for new and innovative data development for Master Data Management within a pharmaceutical digital manufacturing program. Jointly with the Data Architect, Data Modeler, and the System Architect, this team will work closely to drive a holistic standard master data model, architecture, and solution. Leveraging key analytic skills with a data discovery mindset to help unleash the power of data and champion new ideas, work in highly collaborative environments, while working across many disciplines focusing on Master Data Management. The Data Analyst performs investigations into data questions and weaving those findings into an effective story to be actionable for business users. Define application data dictionaries by working with business and technical partners. Identify the quality and completeness of data by working closely with business, technical, and project teams. Facilitate working sessions/workshops to document current/future (AS-IS/TO-BE) process flows.
Extract insights and recommendations from the analysis and communicate them in a structured way the project team. Own and develop queries to generate the data to run analysis, leveraging SQL, Redshift, PowerBI, Tableau, or alternate toolset. Proactively monitor project needs to identify trends that are sources of opportunity or potential issues, determine root causes, and work with business partners on next steps.
The Data Analyst partners with Data Management Leaders, Interface Engineers, Database Engineers, BI Engineers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Modelers, System Architects, Data Architects, Software Engineers, Project Managers, Business Partners, and others across teams to achieve project and business goals.0
Key Responsibilities:
Master Data Management, Data Governance, and Business Intelligence:[PG1] [MB2]
· Design and execute Data Quality checks.
· Document data interfaces and data mappings; analyze and interpret data; conduct data sourcing activities.
· Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) to analyze and translate business requirements towards the delivery of a data driven solution.
· Collaborate and conduct meetings with Business Stakeholders to document use cases & process workflows.
· Following up on action items assigned to MDM team and driving to resolution.
· Maintain a strong focus on quality, data accuracy, and delivering business value.
· Build and maintain a master Data Dictionary to aid in future data analysis.
· Lead the collection and analysis of master data from various business systems to identify gaps in data and data quality.
Data Wrangling:
· Build and maintain an understanding of data flows, sources, and data transformations across multiple domains.
· Extract, merge, cleanse, and transform data from multiple sources as needed for analysis.
· Apply critical thinking to pressure test and validate logic and outputs against known sources and understanding of business.
· Proactively identify data quality issues and collaborate with other subject matter experts to identify solutions.
Data Requirements:
· Define business and data requirements, use cases, and process workflows for data & analytic deliverables and serve as liaison with support teams.
· Lead collaboration with Business Teams for data improvements and proactively identify data enhancements in conjunction with Data Stewards.
· Translate business requirements to data specific requirements for ideal master data model, architecture, and solution.
Analysis:
· Provide actionable insights to support business decisions and long-term strategy development, primarily by performing root cause, exploratory, sensitivity and scenario analysis, hypothesis testing, modeling and data visualization to identify patterns/trends/insights etc. on ambiguous business problems
· Actively participate in industry and trade data and analytic communities in order to bring fresh ideas to the organization.
· Partner with Data Modeling team to identify data elements and attributes related to business processes.
Documentation & Communication:
· Lead team to generate and incorporate insights into a cohesive story that clearly addresses business questions and influences decision making.
· Effectively create tailored documentation based on input from business partners.
· Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
· Write clear and concise Agile User Stories.
Business Consulting:
· Develop and manage business relationships with project team members and senior leaders across the organization.
· Consult with business owners to understand the business problem. Independently identify the appropriate analytic approach to solve the problem.
· Provide mentorship and feedback to others on analytic approach and leverage systems thinking to connect work to other strategic initiatives.
· Serve as a functional and technical data subject matter expert.
· Educate senior and executive leaders across the firm on analytical concepts and best practices.
Operational Efficiency:
· Document, monitor, and improve processes and controls related to areas of responsibility.
· Proactively identify opportunities for efficiency with moderate to broad impact and visibility, propose solutions to relevant parties and drive implementation of solutions.
Miscellaneous:
· Develop/create professionally formatted summary materials (e.g., spreadsheets, tables, charts, Presentations).
· Actively employs analytical, strategic, and conceptual thinking.
· Act as a thought leader, providing practical recommendations and contributing to team discussions on implications of analysis; identifying implementation challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
· 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical (or similar) manufacturing environments.
· 8+ years of experience in a Data and Analytics role.
· Strong understanding of SQL with a focus on descriptive and diagnostic analysis.
· Experienced presenting data insights with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
· Experienced in presenting complicated analysis through strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams.
· Minimum three years of recent experience working with Data Quality (DQ) tools and reporting toolsets, including rule development, testing, issue tracking, reporting and DQ dashboard design.
· Successful with Data Stewards, Data Quality, Data Dictionaries and Data Lineage tools.
· Self-starter with the ability to seek out new problems and develop solutions, while having strong sense of ownership.
· Ability to conduct root cause analysis and communicate recommendation to resolve, switch quickly between details and the big picture.
· Strong analytical and process management skills.
· Ability to synthesize large data sets from a variety of sources.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Analytical and data-driven with a knack for driving business decisions through data and analytics.
· Self-sufficient and motivated to obtain the skills or knowledge necessary to accomplish complex tasks.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
· Capable of working independently, with minimal guidance, while achieving successful results.
· Experience with Master Data Management, Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI).
· Experience using Veeva Data Matcher, Collibra, and/or Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog.
· Experience/familiarity with GxP.
