Metropolitan Companies is looking for a Material Specialist to join our team! The Material Specialist is responsible for maintaining the SKU database for purchasable materials.   • Create and maintain spreadsheet to track materials and overages/shortages.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production planning team to ensure adequate supply.
  • Ensure timely procurement, organization, and delivery of materials necessary for production operations.
  • Analyze market trends and delivery systems to forecast material availability for present and future needs.
  • Follow up with vendors on late or missing material.
  • Analyze and identify errors presented in material database, determine the root cause and possible solutions.
  • Work with preconstruction group to build out procurement status reports.
  • Maintain SKU database for purchasable materials.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • Ability to organize/analyze large volumes of data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to function well in a team environment, display professional maturity and interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, including the ability to make clear and timely decisions.


  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree ideal.
  • Experience with construction materials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Aptitude to work with minimal supervision, set goals, create, and implement action plans and monitor progress towards goals.
