Job Summary
Plans, implements and evaluates student’s learning in Math. Skilled in assessing needs and creative in developing lessons, activities and projects that engage students in learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement Department standards-based lessons to facilitate critical thinking and mastery of essential skills and understandings.
- Plan and implement what students will learn, how they will learn, and how they will be assessed in a manner appropriate to the grade level.
- Administer regular and varied formative and summative assessments to provide feedback for learning.
- Maintain an effective, student-centered learning environment, in both physical and digital learning spaces.
- Communicate consistently with students, families, and school personnel.
- Keep current and accurate electronic grading and attendance records.
- Maintain an up-to-date course web site.
- Work with the Academic Support Center staff and/or counselors to accommodate students who have learning differences.
- Participate in the cocurricular life of the school.

Experience and Educational Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Model for students in the mission and values of Cardinal Newman High School
- Model for students in the mission and values of Cardinal Newman High School
- Ability to provide a Catholic education and religious environment that upholds values, ethics and standards of behavior
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Single-subject teaching credential in Math or currently pursuing a single- subject teaching credential in Math
- Experience working with high school students is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of current educational theory and experience in crafting engaging lessons for students who may have a range of learning abilities
- Experience in utilizing technology in instruction to support deeper learning
- Familiar and comfortable teaching in an online format
- Experience in developing and using multiple methods of both formative and summative assessment
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Position type: Full-time, teacher’s contract.
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, possible evening hours and/or weekends.
- Working successfully with parents and students.
- Must be able to operate a keyboard and mouse, use a head or handset.
- Must have visual acuity.
- Must be able to work physically on tasks for long periods of time.
- Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, crouch and stoop for extended periods.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $66,253.00 - $102,553.00 per year
