Sustainable Meats is seeking Junior Meat Cutters and Slaughter Floor Employees.

The Employees will have at least 2 years experience at Slaughter and processing plants under USDA inspection.

JOB TITLE: Junior Meat Cutter/ Harvest Meat Cutter

DEPARTMENT: Sustainable Meats, Kuna Facility

REPORTS TO: Facility Manager (“FM”)

POSITION SUMMARY:

These positions play a role in our brand new, state-of-the-art Facility to harvest live animals and fabricate all meat products and usable byproducts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Junior Meat Cutter

  • Fabrication and portioning of premium cuts of Beef, Lamb, Goat and Ostrich.
  • Responsibility for the highest standards of safety & cleanliness and staying compliant with all USDA guidelines
  • Maintain effective working relationship with USDA inspectors
  • Follow, enforce, & provide input on Sustainable Meats policies/protocols; proactively identify real & potential problems with staff/teamwork and infrastructure/facilities, keeping leadership informed of the same

Harvest Meat Cutter

  • · Harvest of live animals including but not limited to Ostrich, Beef, Pork and Lamb
  • Responsibility for the highest standards of safety & cleanliness and staying compliant with all USDA guidelines
  • Maintain effective working relationship with USDA inspectors
  • Follow, enforce, & provide input on Sustainable Meats policies/protocols; proactively identify real & potential problems with staff/teamwork and infrastructure/facilities, keeping leadership informed of the same

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience at a livestock harvest & processing facility (USDA-compliant preferred)
  • Knowledge of USDA Meat inspection Regulations
  • Impeccable integrity & reliability; thrives in a highly meritocratic work environment and is accustomed to putting team and mission above themselves
  • Demonstrated – and references who can corroborate – an ability to maintain focus, composure, and a pleasant demeanor for exhausting shifts; high energy and physically fit (able to comfortably lift 80lbs)
  • A team player who seeks to elevate others’ performance to help them improve and advance
