Position: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: This role is 100% onsite at 4565 Reid Rd, Elon, NC 27244.
About Us: A leading supplier of Rock Drilling Attachments in the United States, WORD Rock Drills builds and maintains a variety of product lines at our home location in Elon, NC. Founded in 2006, WORD is a faith-based and family-owned organization working to grow into an internationally recognized brand in the foundation drilling industry. Manufacturing rock drilling attachments for both skid steers and excavators, our products offer solutions across various industries throughout the United States and internationally.
The Role: The Assembly Technician will become a valued member of our shop team, responsible for tasks essential to constructing WORD Rock Drill attachments. We seek an individual with robust mechanical skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to our company's core values, eager to acquire new skills. Prior experience in hydraulics is advantageous for this role. Please be aware that a readiness to work overtime is necessary for this position.
Schedule:
The work schedule for this position involves four 10-hour workdays. If overtime is needed, there may be a request to work on Friday to finish a project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble drilling attachments using common hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Ensure the safe and efficient assembly of drilling attachments to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
- Apply a working knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical methods during the assembly process.
- Perform MIG and Flux Core welding on carbon steel components, as needed.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues related to hydraulics, electrical systems, or pneumatics.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous learning and growth.
- Represent WORD Rock Drills' core values in a professional and customer-oriented manner.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to assembly tasks and quality control.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure the successful completion of assembly tasks.
- Be willing to work occasional overtime to meet production demands and project requirements.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Positive attitude and willingness to take responsibility and work toward accomplishing the goal.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.
- Experience working with common shop tools to include drill press, hydraulic press, and common hand tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ideal Qualifications
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation includes operation and maintenance of excavators and skid steers.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and ability to install and troubleshoot hydraulic components.
- Previous experience with welding, cutting and use of plasma cutter.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation includes operation and maintenance of excavators and skid steers.
