Mechanical Engineer

PTR Baler and Compactor (PTR) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will report to the Chief Engineer.

PTR is a world leader in the waste equipment industry. PTR helps companies achieve their green initiatives by reducing waste streams and increasing recycling efforts. The company manufactures and services baler, compactors, and provides parts and resources to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engineering and design of customer specific applications, engineering of existing equipment modifications and design of new equipment.
• Create, update, and maintain BOM in the system.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing, sales, and service departments.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or other 3-D modeling software.
• Knowledge of engineering design practices, drafting and GD&T.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, ability to adjust design to match production capabilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 - 5 years of related experience, industrial equipment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Hands on approach to problem solving.
• Must be detail oriented, and should have the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, multi-task, and have strong time management skills.

EDUCATION: BSME or related degree
