Systems West Engineers (SWE) is seeking a technically adept mechanical engineer and motivated leader to join our Division of Engineering as a Project Manager. We are a collaborative team of engineers, designers, and technicians who are passionate about technical excellence and building relationships that drive meaningful outcomes in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.

As a Project Manager at SWE, you will be responsible for leading complex, multidisciplinary design projects, managing both internal and external relationships, and contributing to high quality and effective project execution. The right-fit candidate will bring situational awareness, courageous authenticity, and a growth mindset to the role.

Key competencies for this position include:

Technical Skills

Broad knowledge and experience in a variety of institutional facilities and building systems. Preferred system experience includes:

  • HVAC systems
  • Centralized systems (boilers, chillers, steam, etc.)
  • Utility distribution systems
  • Healthcare
  • Laboratories

Emotional Intelligence (EQ)

Demonstrates ability to recognize, understand, and manage their own emotions, as well as interact compassionately with the emotions of others.

  • Proactively establishes and nurtures strong relationships with clients and team members, becoming a trusted advisor and influential partner.

*This position has opportunities for leadership advancement into senior management or subject matter expert track.

Minimum Qualifications to be considered for an interview:

  • Professional Mechanical Engineering (PE) registration in the State of Oregon, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Proven project management experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in MEP design projects.
  • Proven knowledge across various mechanical building systems and building types.
  • Previous experience supervising and mentoring team members.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position. Competitive salary starting at $112,000, DOE. Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K retirement plan with employer contributions and company performance bonus.

Position Location

This leadership position reports to our primary office located in Springfield, Oregon. The candidate will be expected to reside within a reasonable local location to accommodate consistent in-office and project site participation. Additionally, flexible hybrid schedules are commonplace and accommodated for most positions. At Systems West, hybrid means you live locally and have the option to work from home.
