Full job description
Job Summary:
In accordance with agency standards and policies, the Medical Assistant works under the direction of the Clinical Services Coordinator. The Medical Assistant provides nursing support to assure patient care needs are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate the flow of patients into examination areas to assure efficient room utilization. Perform vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, height, temperature, respirations and record in the patient record. Record current medications, dose, strength, and frequency, patient drug allergies, and other pertinent information in the patient chart. Assist the NP or physician during the patient examination by assembling the necessary supplies and equipment and by providing chaperon assistance. Perform laboratory tests as ordered such as venipuncture, urine dipstick, and finger stick. Complete laboratory slips, patient data slips and other paper work as required. Restock and clean patient exam rooms as needed. Participates in all staff in-services and staff meetings. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
This position requires a graduate of a Medical Assistant program with at least one (1) year experience working in an out patient medical setting. Individual must possess good communication, and documentation skills. In addition, individual must be able to work well under pressure and deal with co-workers in a courteous and cooperative manner. Spanish speaking is preferred but not required. Physical endurance is necessary.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
