Our fun, well-established dermatology practice is growing! We have an immediate need for highly motivated, organized, reliable and friendly Medical Assistants.
The Medical Assistant (MA) performs duties related to providing exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare providers in a specialty clinic setting. This individual will display responsible behavior, communicate effectively with others and function as a member of our healthcare team. MAs must also demonstrate problem-solving skills as they relate to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to exam rooms, gather and document intake information in the patient’s medical record
- Keep exam rooms stocked, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
- Receive phone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to Physicians and Physician Assistants
- Assist Dermatologists and Physician Assistants in exam rooms as scribe assistants - Our scribe assistants accurately document the details of the visit within our EMR.
- Assist Dermatologist during dermatologic surgical procedures
- Provide instructions to patients as directed by Dermatologists/Physician assistants
- Remove sutures, administer UVB light therapy treatments
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge
- Healthcare field and preference for dermatology experience
- Medical terminology
- Grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record Systems

- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- Problem-solving ability
- Strong team spirit
Requirements
- High school diploma; some college preferred
- 2+ years healthcare experience working as a medical assistant
- Certification preferred but not required

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
