We are seeking candidates for the Membership Director position at The PEAK. As the Membership Director, you will lead a dynamic team of Sales Representatives, driving membership growth and ensuring an exceptional member experience. Your role will involve developing sales strategies, fostering community relationships, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
Position Overview:
The Membership Director is a key leader at The PEAK, responsible for managing and developing a team of Sales Representatives to inspire and assist members in achieving their fitness goals. This role focuses on new member acquisition, retention, and delivering an exceptional member experience. The Director collaborates closely with the Service Desk and other leadership to achieve organizational goals and ensures the smooth operation of daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Retention:
- Generate new membership leads using sales tools.
- Achieve and exceed sales and retention goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with members through marketing and community engagement.
- Conduct facility tours and ensure member satisfaction.
- Manage member cancellations and implement retention strategies.
- Ensure availability of marketing materials and documentation.
Managerial and Supervisory:
- Create a positive, high-energy work environment.
- Set and monitor monthly goals with the Director, Marketing Director and Ownership.
- Coach and develop the sales team through role-playing and shadowing.
- Maintain accurate member and prospect data.
- Process new member forms and manage resignations.
- Report daily sales activities and celebrate team successes.
- Facilitate monthly sales meetings.
- Handle difficult member service scenarios.
- Collaborate with the billing department on member agreements.
- Works closely with Service Desk to ensure smooth hand off of guests, prospects etc.
Operations and Housekeeping:
- Process payroll and commission reports.
- Respond to emergencies and enforce facility policies.
- Assist during staff shortages
- Present and assist with special events; ensures membership is present (table, network) at all club functions, business after hours, health fairs etc.
Marketing:
- Generate new business through marketing strategies.
- Make marketing decisions in collaboration with the Director, Marketing Director and Ownership.
Requirements:
- Supervisory experience and prior work in a similar field preferred.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and database software.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- CPR/AED certification within 30 days of employment.
- Commitment to customer service and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team or independently.
ADA/Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Must be able to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Must be able to navigate the facility and interact with members and staff.

Salary
- $30 base salary is based on a 40 hour work week plus commissions sold and a net gain bonus. If this is a motivated/sales driven person, the hourly rate could average $31.25 and more per hour.
