ABOUT PUENTE

Puente’s mission is to fosters wellness and prosperity in the San Mateo County South Coast communities of Pescadero, La Honda, Loma Mar, and San Gregorio by promoting and advocating for equitable access to education, health, and economic security. POSITION SUMMARY: The position is based in Pescadero, CA. Candidate MUST work on-site a minimum of 2 days a week (see below for telecommuting details).

Clinicians provide education, prevention, and intervention services to enhance community mental health and wellness to all individuals living and working in the San Mateo South Coast Region. This includes school counseling and support to students in the La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct clinical services to individuals, families and groups in schools and community
  • Facilitate and/or co-facilitate clinical and non-clinical mental health groups
  • Consult with multidisciplinary team including, health services and school district
  • Provide crisis management referrals to existing clients
  • Provide case management and support “wrap around” services for participants with other community partners
  • Maintain clinical charts including intake, pre-and post-assessment, treatment plan, diagnosis, progress notes, and termination paperwork
  • Adhere to confidentiality and ethical guidelines as mandated by law and within the mental health field
  • Perform administrative task such as preparing reports, data tracking, reviewing case files, among other
  • Perform related duties as assigned
  • Establish effective working relationships with Puente staff, school district personnel, and other county agencies and partners
  • Plan, organize and prioritize own work to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks within established timelines, including maintaining accurate records and files
  • Attend staff meetings, retreats, and other meetings as needed and participate in organizational events, including training, fundraising and program meetings
  • Provide organizational support as needed

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in psychology, counseling, or related discipline (MSW, MFT, PsyD, PhD, MS, MA)
  • Licensed or working towards licensure in California
  • Registered or able to be registered with BBS
  • Experience working in a hybrid environment, preferred
  • Knowledge of the South Coast or experience working in a rural community, preferred
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a culturally diverse team
  • Availability to work some nights a week and occasionally on weekends
  • Competent written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Competent skills with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and TEAMS
  • Current California Driver’s License and ability to drive to work related functions in and around Pescadero, La Honda, Loma Mar, San Gregorio, Half Moon Bay and the Bay Area.
  • Cultural competency to work with community members from diverse backgrounds, class and race

TELECOMMUTING

Telecommuting is defined as regularly working a full or partial workday remotely. Puente will regularly reassess remote work eligibility on a case-by-case basis based on organizational needs, employee performance, and employee's role. Full time employees may work remotely up to three (3) days per week, depending on program's needs. Part-time positions will be prorated to determine the total number of hours eligible for remote work.
