OPPORTUNITY:

WCT seeks a part time or full time Mental Health Therapist who is passionate about providing first class interventions to children with special needs from 2 to 21 years of age and their families. The goal of Whole Child Therapy is to help families of children with disabilities cope and learn strategies to enable them to live more rewarding and fulfilling lives. The Mental Health Therapist assesses, designs, and oversees mental health services, including the development, implementation, ongoing evaluation, and maintenance of treatment plans to ensure they are maximally effective. We provide:

· Practice administration – including in-house billing, insurance credentialing, benefit/eligibility coordination, scheduling, and more

· Electronic health record system to conveniently manage schedule and maintain client records

· Comfortable and beautifully decorated office space with essential office supplies and a variety of therapeutic games, toys, and art material.

-In house supervision: supervision provided for provisional licensed clinicians looking to accrue hours towards independence license.

  • Master’s degree from a CACREP accredited program

Responsibilities and Duties:

The ideal candidate is a compassionate therapist who:

  • Passionate about working with children ages 3+ as well as teens and their families
  • Works closely with the clinical director, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, and board-certified behavior analysts
  • Experienced with assessing behavioral challenges and autism
  • Perform Individual, Family, and Group therapy
  • Performs psychosocial assessments and creating treatment plans
  • Effectively manages a caseload
  • Attends weekly & monthly interdisciplinary staff meeting/trainings
  • Works closely in conjunction with other staff to meet individual and family needs
  • Develops and documents goals for each client and documents all progress made toward the completion of goals
  • Documents information concerning family therapy sessions, phone calls, e-mail, voicemail, etc. as appropriate, explaining all contact as necessary
  • Participates in staff training as requested
  • Identify and utilize community resources to assist in completion of treatment goals
  • Utilizes knowledge and expertise of DSM 5 to diagnose,
  • Provide in-service training as needed
  • Performs other duties, as requested

  • Ethical and Legal standards affecting professional practice
  • Family systems approach
  • Play Therapy education/CEUs preferred
  • Must possess minimum technical skills including familiarity with Google apps
