Psychotherapist (children, families, couples)
Family Roots is seeking a full time mental health clinician to join our growing team of providers. Our mission at Family Roots is to help overwhelmed, stressed families to create more connection and harmony in their lives by providing compassionate, effective therapy.

The candidate will hold expertise in treating children, families, adults, and/or couples in various evidence based modalities that address trauma, attachment, adjustment, mood and behavior issues. The clinician will have the opportunity to provide outpatient psychotherapy in a supportive group practice environment. We have a particular need for clinicians who are skilled in working with children (early childhood and/or elementary age) and couples.

Qualifications & Skills

Licensed therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or registered associate through the OBLPCT board
at least 1-2 years experience working with children and families providing evidence based psychotherapy preferred
Specialized training in play therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Collaborative Problem Solving, Art therapy, sand tray therapy, EFT, Gottman, perinatal mental health, or family therapy/family systems is a plus
Ability to offer group therapy, parenting classes or other group events is a plus
Excitement for their specialty and eagerness to grow
Ability to work full-time and provide a minimum of 20-25 sessions per week, some evenings required or at least one weekend day. Part-time positions may be available for the right candidate, or we may be able to split the position between two candidates if it's the right fit. Specific days will be dependent on office availability
Commitment to anti-racism and cultural competence
Must have the computer skills to use an electronic health record for all documentation and do video sessions

About Family Roots

Family Roots Therapy is a growing group practice located in NE Portland focused on the mental health needs of new parents, young children, and families. Our goal is to support the entire family with connection and compassion, through individual or family counseling, groups, parent education, and community classes and workshops.

We are currently a team of 15 therapists and would like to add 1-2 new members to our team. At this time we are offering both in person and virtual sessions, so this will most likely be a hybrid position with some days in person at our office and some days working from home (an office can be provided for you to do telehealth sessions if you do not have a private space at home).

This job is ideal for therapists who want the flexibility of private practice without having to worry about handling the business and administrative side of billing, marketing, and scheduling. You have the opportunity to build a case load quickly and work with a great, supportive team of counselors.
