Position Summary

The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) seeks an energetic, driven, and knowledgeable Mental Health Therapist to provide services to its Transitional Aged Youth members. The ideal candidate will be someone who brings curiosity, creativity, initiative, patience, and integrity to their work.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides professional mental health services to ARC members with an emphasis on Transitional Aged Youth. Services include individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy, utilizing empirically supported interventions for mental health treatment and/or prevention.
  • Supports student interns to acclimate to ARC and helps provide training and guidance and mentorship to the intern team, as needed.
  • Prepares intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries and maintains ongoing confidential records. Documents member's treatment and progress for all individual and group sessions in our electronic records system and our secure client database.
  • All documentation completed within 48 hours
  • Attends all case conferences, member support meetings and clinical staff meetings and works collaboratively with the life coaches and career services to provide support to ARC members, as needed.
  • Supports the LA therapeutic, social-emotional, and recovery support groups to ensure all groups are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and meet the members’ needs/expectations.
  • Works in collaboration with Sacramento Mental Health Therapist and Clinical & Wellness Director to plan and facilitate monthly case conferences with direct service staff, professional development, and clinical training.
  • Support the Clinical & Wellness Director to maintain and build external mental health referral sources.
  • Supports Clinical & Wellness Department in ensuring all office meetings, groups, and approaches are trauma-informed and implements best practices in dealing with staff and/or member conflict.
  • Support the Clinical & Wellness Department and the Inside Programs Department with going into the Juvenile Halls to provide clinical services
  • Other clinical duties as directed by Clinical & Wellness director.


  • Must be ASW or LCSW (strongly preferred). Prior experience working with justice-involved individuals required.
  • Knowledge working with Transitional Aged Youth in residential setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Substantial clinical experience working with individuals who have experienced incarceration, and/or experience working within the criminal justice system, CDCR, probation, parole and/or community partners focused on reentry.
  •  Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed behavioral mental health care.
  •  Knowledge and experience working with individuals experiencing addiction and/or mental illness.
  • A demonstrated passion for helping a diverse, underserved population who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to incarceration
  •  Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.


  • Pay rate is $68-72k annually doe
