Metadata and Data Catalog Analyst

Job Summary

Xendat is looking for a Metadata and Data Catalog Analyst (Pharma/Healthcare) for a long-term contract role (C2C) with one of our clients. The position is remote.

The Metadata and Data Catalog Analyst will provide analysis and applies expertise in Information Technology disciplines to provide a vital force in the growth and delivery of Enterprise Metadata Management Program. This person is responsible to build trust and credibility with business and IT partners as part of their project engagement. These relationships, combined with business awareness and a value focus, enable the candidate to influence culture and leverage data assets to drive value.

  • Help rollout & manage the enterprise Data Catalog for the enterprise, including new feature rollouts for the various user groups across the company
  • Act as a one of the primary contributors for the Metadata repositories as well as manage the health and wellbeing of the Metadata repositories
  • Help to promote a data community comprised of both data producers and data consumers encouraging participation from the community in building out the Data Catalog
  • Stay abreast of technology and practice trends, create proof of concepts and lead adoption for data discovery
  • Meta Data Management using tool Collibra DGC Business Process Management workflows in Collibra.
  • Help create Collibra Data Governance Center (DGC) models including assets, relationships, domains and communities.
  • Help to define workflow, security and integration requirements
  • Populate Metadata content and associate terms in the Business Glossary to develop the Collibra Data Catalog.
  • Metadata scans & Lineage harvesters to build the complete view of data flow from source to reports.
  • Collaborate with Data, Analytics and IT teams and guide them on data standards and the use of Collibra platform. 
  • Establish repeatable, sustainable processes to maintain data and metadata. 
  • End to End Business and Technical Lineage development based on requirements for Business users
  • Utilize skills in Collibra Software: Data Quality, Profiling and Data Management tools, SQL and Data discovery techniques.
  • Define and design workflows in partnership with data governance team.

Specific Responsibilities For This Role Include

Responsibilities

  • Strong experience with metadata management principles and data catalog tools.
  • Demonstrated passion and experience in working in strong data management organizations
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a automation mindset
  • Experience with metadata management tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.) 
  • Effective project management skills, as demonstrated by on-time, on-budget project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications Basic Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in metadata management related roles
  • Bachelors degree in field like Computer Science, Information technology, Math, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Finance (with focus on analysis).
  • Strong collaboration and communications skills, ability to engage with others. 
  • Ability to resolve complex problems and break them down to create and implement an action plan.
  • Ability to work in data related project activities. 
  • Self-Starter who can work in ambiguous situations and drive to a solution. 
  • Good organizational skills and ability to advance multiple work streams concurrently.
  • Proficient in authoring, editing, and presenting technical documents.
  • Solid understanding of Data Cataloging processes and principles, with the ability to effectively communicate and advocate those ideas to others.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment.
  • Requires strong decision-making, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills are required.
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with competence in interfacing with business users required.
  • Ability to summarize and present design alternatives.
  • Significant experience in data requirements gathering and facilitation of business data definitions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with related information management disciplines (e.g. data governance management, data quality, master data management, reference data management,…)
  • Experience with pharma or/and health care data

Pay: $65.00 - $80.00 per hour
