To meet a need in our local community, Kaibab is opening a micro-school to support students with disabilities. Kaibab also has a responsibility to provide training and coaching to early childhood personnel on best practices. Therefore, this position is unique because we are looking for a teacher who can provide support to the microschool and coach/train for Pyramid Model practices in Northern Arizona.

We serve children from kindergarten to high school with special needs not limited to, but including autism and developmental delay. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who is knowledgeable in working with students with special needs to join our 2024-2025 school year team. Your experience can be from a traditional school setting or years of successful homeschooling. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with a moderate to high level of special needs, excellent communication skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
● Teach math, language arts, and 1-2 electives.
● Supervise and handle daily class functions of a group of children.
● Deliver prepared lessons for classes using a guided curriculum.
● Adapt curriculum as needed.
● Communicate with the Program Director concerning student needs.
● Assess and report student progress.
● Ensure proper set-up and breakdown of assigned rooms.
● Maintain a clean classroom environment.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree
● Willingness to learn and implement a diverse academic model
● Prior experience in a related area or equivalent teaching education
● Prior experience in a related area or equivalent early childhood education
● Ability to communicate well with students, parents, teachers, and staff
● Be a team player and have strong leadership skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
