Mission Support Services Worker

Position Description:
Union Gospel Mission Support Services Workers are responsible for the pickup and tracking of UGM inventory. Additional tasks include the general maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of the building and Mission vehicle.

Position Responsibilities:

• Ensure the timely pickup of rescued food products from various local vendors.
• Unload, inspect, and inventory all products arriving at UGM.
• Maintain food safety standards, including but not limited to food handling, storage, and temperature tracking.
• Clean designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, taking out trash and recycling, etc.).
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special building maintenance projects.
• Stock and maintain various supply areas.
• Assist with meal preparation and services, when necessary.
• Ensure the UGM vehicle is routinely checked for fluids, tire pressure, and routine maintenance, update maintenance record.
• Act as an exemplary representative of UGM while conducting business with local vendors.
• Maintain positive work attitude towards UGM guests, volunteers, and coworkers.
• Relate to people who face barriers associated with poverty, homelessness and diverse backgrounds.
• Follow all UGM policies and guidelines.
• Support the mission and values of UGM.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, 100 pounds occasionally; frequently lift, bend and stand.
• Ability to work well in high-energy, loosely structured environments.

Classification: This position is 35+ hours per week, non-exempt, PTO and benefit eligible.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
