POSITION TITLE: Loan Officer, Loan Originator



The Loan Officer for Inspire Mortgage, LLC dba Forward Mortgage (Company) is to focus on sales of mortgage products while acting as a liaison between the borrowers and Forward Mortgage. You are to educate our borrowers, to help facilitate a first-class experience throughout the mortgage loan process. You are also responsible for discussing client’s needs, recommending the best loan products, and qualify applicants in a timely manner. Work with applicants to identify their homeownership goals, helping to find ways of reaching those goals. In addition to your own business and sphere leads, we have a great lead generation system in place that typically yields multiple warm leads for our LOs.

Utilize all resources available to achieve success in responsibilities relating to your position. You will work to help support the team in achieving the company’s annual closing goals. Implement and use industry standard tools and company systems, operate within all applicable laws and rules governing mortgage lending and the company, manage critical relationships and help the company staff in all aspects of operations as may be needed.

This position represents Forward Mortgage in the local community through active participation in community affairs and participates in marketing Forward Mortgage in a positive manner. Build upon current relationships and establish new ones to expand the company’s success.

PRIMARY LOCATION: Main office and in the field as specific work is required


  • Operate at optimum efficiency to achieve the highest possible results as you work to achieve the company’s objectives for 2020
  • Meet with Borrowers to determine their needs and recommend the right loan products that help meet their goals.
  • Gather and put together a complete application package, and work with the mortgage staff though out the loan process.
  • Maintain an active knowledge base of all the GSE and Investor loan products and guidelines, and an understanding of the qualifications required of each applicant.
  • Responsible for accuracy in disclosing all appropriate fees on the loan estimates and disclosures required for the loan product type for the borrowers.
  • Utilize professional judgement to determine good risk opportunities for Forward Mortgage.
  • Reject loans based on borrower’s overall credit worthiness making sure also to explain and document deficiencies with applicants.
  • Help by answering questions, returning borrowers calls and responding to requests when needed.
  • Maintain pipeline as required by regulations, completing all paperwork needs to stay in compliance and any follow up needed in a timely manner.
  • Handle any customer complaints as needed and help take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Updated job and product knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional originations and events
  • Identify and cultivate new referral relationships with Agents/builders/other industry professionals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all clients’ current and future (agents, builders, insurance and financial professionals, buyers/sellers, title companies, appraisers, etc.).
  • Help cultivate a team environment with teammates in the office.
  • Contribute to a success-oriented, accountable environment within the Company
  • Help to build, foster and grow relationships within and between sister and related companies with common ownership within the JSE family of companies

Insure seamless and effective communication between you and clients (applicants, borrowers, staff, agents, title companies, buyers and sellers) at all times.

  • Maintain all licensing and educational requirements set forth by the NMLS.
  • Not be listing on any of the following lists: US General Services Administration (GSA) Excluded Party List and the HUD Limited Denial of Participation List (LDP List) and the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Suspended Counterparty Program (SCP).
  • Maintain a current signed Loan Officer Compensation Plan
  • Adhere to all policies as defined in Company Policy book.
