Job Expectations:

  • This position reports to the Motorclothes Manager
  • The focus of this position is to set-up and maintain an appealing retail environment and assist customers with their shopping and purchase of merchandise
  • Meet established personal sales goals o Minimum dollar average of sales per hour and per ticket o Minimum average of line items per sales ticket and tickets per hour
  • Increase sales and develop prospects by following established processes and methods o Use suggestive selling techniques to upsell o Make outbound contacts each day to new Major Unit and Large Sales customers as assigned by the manager. A “contact” is defined primarily as an outbound call, but may include outbound email contact, that results in a conversation with the prospect. o Contact customers and prospects about new merchandise o Contact customers about fittings o Contact customers about upcoming sales and events * Maintain an average of four greets per hour. A “greet” is defined as engaging someone in a conversation about merchandise. * Actively assist in stocking, straightening, and merchandising the department * Ensure customer data is complete, accurate, and updated in Lightspeed system o Verify existing data; update or add new data; always ask for the customer’s email address * Experience with retail sales and inventory management. * Knowledge and experience with servicing of Harley-Davidson General Merchandise, and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them. * Strong skills in customer resolution/satisfaction * Provide excellent customer service to all of the dealership’s customers. * Greet customers immediately, in a courteous and friendly manner. * Possess the ability to work with several customers at one time while maintaining individual customer satisfaction. * Handle telephone transactions quickly, and courteously. * Point out any sales, specials, or new merchandise to customers. * Assist customers with their selection of merchandise and offer additional product that compliments the purchase. * Accept cash & credit card payments for merchandise purchases. Keep cash register accurate. 3/2/2022 RideNow Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 2 * Notify customers when special orders or back-ordered items are received. * The employee will be evaluated at the end of each month during the probationary period to determine if the above criteria has been met. If not, management will determine what future action will be taken. Follow Through! * Be an ambassador for the dealership and the Harley-Davidson Brand Must possess a positive attitude & show enthusiasm for the products we sell Must maintain a professional appearance & a neat, well organized work area * Provide prompt and accurate service at cash register. * Assist General Merchandise Manager with attaining retial sales plans in General Merchandise. * Receive and process merchandise from distributors, check merchandise received against purchase invoice, log merchandise into inventory, and prepare product for showroom floor. * Conduct or participate in periodic physical inventory of all merchandise (counts, reports etc.) * Assist with set-up, organization, and staging of special events such as Open houses, of HOG activities, fashion shows, etc. * Create well-organized presentations, which appeal to our customers. * Ensure merchandise displays are stocked, clean, dust free, and appealing to customers. * Continuously maintain showroom product availability by stocking shelves and displays. * Maintain update customer mailing lists. * Other duties as assigned Training * Attend training sessions to keep current with sales techniques and sales department issues. * Stay current on Motorclothes trends and selling features. * Maintain knowledge and experience with sales of Harley-Davidson Motorclothes products sold by the dealership using Dealer provided materials. * Understand the competition; having knowledge of other brands will help to sell the advantages & benefits of our product. * Remain current with all Sales Department training available by completing classes on HDU. Regularly attend webinars, workshops, and other related training programs assigned by the Motorclothes Manager. Qualifications & Job Requirements * Must have ability to get along with broad customer base. * Schooling or experience in merchandising and retail sales preferred. * Experience with Point-of-Sale & computerized inventory systems or the ability to quickly learn 3/2/2022 RideNow Confidential and Proprietary Information Page 3 Physical Demands * The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. * Requires majority of the day on your feet * Frequently works on a computer or doing other “close vision” work * Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift 25 lbs. of material Working Conditions * Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles * Normally indoors, however, some outdoor work is required during open houses or other events Expectations of all employees: * Training.
