Summary/Objective: Under general supervision, the New Accounts Clerk interviews persons desiring to open, transfer or cancel accounts. Explain account services available to customers and assist them in preparing applications. Answers customers’ questions and explains services. Ensures and verifies the completion of the paperwork, to include notary services, filing, scanning, and mailings. All other duties as assigned

Essential Functions:

1. Interview customers to obtain information needed to open, transfer or cancel accounts.

2. Compile information about accounts, enter account information into computers, and file related forms or other documents.

3. Inform customers of procedures for services needed.

4. Schedules appointments for department

5. Refer customers to appropriate personnel to meet their questions.

6. Process applications.

7. Follow up with members’ on any missing information.

8. Back up other departments as needed.

9. Perform miscellaneous duties such as filing, answering phones, maintaining supplies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.This position requires long periods of standing, walking, and reaching and occasional bending, kneeling, and stooping throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 20 pounds.
